Containments
Smith and Vallee Gallery
Edison, WA 2018

These small sculptures are the unfolding of building.  The inside impression of a cardboard-built form.  The idea started with process and developed aesthetically with each piece.  Conceptually, these vessels are about space, orientation and interaction of the body.  I think of them as something changeable, the bases were added after the clay was done, providing a sense of place for the vessel that had a soft "landing" so to welcome touch as well as placement and/or changes in orientation.
